Recently uncovered in a Los Angeles estate, this fantastic painting certainly illustrates the Deco era's appetite for the exotic. All the elements of faraway fantasy are present, from the nude figures to the docile panthers. The grand scaled canvas originally graced a stylized 1930's home bar, complete with etched nude mirrors. The lengthy work is signed by Maxine Carlyle Sr, and dated 1937. The painting has been cleaned and had some minor paint restoration. It is mounted in its' original wooden frame.
