Popeye Painted Wood Carousel Figure American1930's Most carousel figures tend to be horses, but occasionally a unique design was added to the merry-go-round for a little diversity. This wonderful figure of Popeye on a rocket mounted to a spring base and attached to the rounding board floor, most likely for smaller riders. Ours has a standard plumbing pipe fitting attached, so he can "fly" from any ceiling. The "drop" can be determined by any size pipe you use. The paint is fantastic! There are areas showing under colors, as all carousel figures were "park painted" fresh every few seasons. He has just the right amount of wear to show an "honest" paint job, not the typical re-painted and "antiqued" finish. A true American treasure!
