Donald Deskey Designed Brunswick Centennial Pool Table USA1940's Donald Deskey, in his diverse career, designed such projects as Radio City Music Hall and the Crest toothpaste tube. He also was involved with the Brunswick company for a short time, modernizing the bowling alleys and pool hall interiors. He created three designs for pool tables - the Paramount, the Anniversary, and the Centennial. The Centennial was made of the highest quality Brazilian rosewood rails, and a solid cast aluminum skirt and base. This example is a 4 ft by 8 ft(playing surface size.) The table has been fully restored, including refinishing all exposed wood, and high polishing of all the aluminum. The slate comes in three sections, and is 1 1/2 inch thick, as is found on all early quality tables. The pockets are black closed rubber webbed cups. There are bent wood cue holders under the side skirts for cue stick storage. Brunswick built the finest pool and billiards tables in the world, and the moderne style tables are quite rare and sought after. Of course, the table completely breaks down for shipping. We have a very capable fine arts shipper who is very familiar with transporting pool tables, if needed.
